Neat.

My aunt gave this bottle of scotch to my dad when she came back from Scotland, maybe a year or two before she died. At that time, I only knew the name Lagavulin from watching Parks and Rec, which is probably why she gave me whiskey instead. But I don’t think my dad knew what it was either (hence the ice in the glasses) but we all have to start somewhere.

I made this picture when I was starting something new. Drinking that scotch with my dad. Feels like a lot of new stuff these days and it’s got me thinking back. So many pictures like this of moments at tables. Sometimes I remember the things tied to my senses first, especially taste and smell, then the rest fills in like pouring into a glass.
