Midland Farmers Market Appreciation Post

Probably my favorite thing about Dad’s house is that it’s across the street from the Midland Downtown Farmers Market. (I think this is his fifth house here, and there’s plenty about it that I like, more on that later.)

It’s become a routine on our visits with the kids. We get up, go get a coffee and something sweet for the kids, and either eat breakfast there or walk back to dad’s house for breakfast once the rest of the family is up. It’s growth says a lot about the overall growth of Midland (remind me to tell you about Midland’s new micro-brewery). Even after the recent bust, to see the market this big and full of people was nice.

The coffee is always good. And they even have more than once vendor now. Angela likes the tea. There was even a stall selling avocado toast a few years back and Sophie absolutely loved it. This last visit they had artwork for sale (I got a print or two) and, a family favorite if you don’t count Angela, French Macarons. Since we don’t live there it’s not like we get fresh produce, even though there is plenty of it I would like to try. But there are some things we can get to take home. Now that i’ve started pickling, it’s nice to get some local products to compare with.

These first images are from a visit in June 2021 . I’ll be filling in with older images as I come across them in my archive.
